The Unit Association frame allows you to create and maintain unit-to-unit, unit-to-component, and component-to-component associations. Units or components can be associated for the benefit of preventative maintenance scheduling and usage tracking.
If you know the unit or component number you can enter it in the Number field. Also, you can double-click in the Number field to select one from the List of Values. You will receive a popup to select the Unit or Component List of Values.
After you have entered the unit or component number, press tab or enter. The Description field automatically displays. If the unit or component has any existing associations, the number of Associations will display inside the Blue Circle icon on the top level folder.
To the right of the associations, the Actions and Current Node information displays:
Current Node - The record you select to make it active.
Type - Indicates Unit or Component.
Key - The unit or component number.
Description - The Year/Make/Model.
Following the Current Node section are action links:

Show Bases History
Show Dependent History
Select the New Unit Association link to create a new unit association. The Association Information window opens.
Unit number – Must be a valid unit from Unit Main.
Position – Enter a Position code, if applicable.
Start – The Start date for the association, default is the current date.
Stop – To end an association, enter a Stop date and select SAVE.
Meter Type – Meter Type will carry over from the MCC assigned to the unit.
LTD Meter – Life to date meter reading.
The unit Number displayed in the base unit number section is based on whether the unit is setup with a meter type by using the MCC. If there is no MCC or meter type, this section will display the information from the master unit.
Select the New Component Association link to create a new component association. The Association Information window opens.
Component number – Must be a valid component from Component Main.
Position – Enter a Position code, if applicable.
Start – The Start date for the association, default is the current date.
Stop – To end an association, enter a Stop date and select SAVE.
Location – Associates a component to a location when another association ends. See System Flag 2057 for more information.
Bin – Inventory bin number for component.
Meter Type – Meter Type will carry over from the MCC assigned to the component.
LTD Meter – Life to date meter reading.

Select the Show Bases History link to view the bases history for a unit or component. The Associated Unit Bases History frame opens.
The frame displays all units or components that have been associated with the unit or component in the Has been associated with i-frame.
Select X to return to the Unit Association frame.
Select the Show Dependent History link to view dependent history for a unit or component. The Associated Unit Dependent History frame opens.
The frame displays all units or components that have been associated with the unit or component in the Has had these associated with it i-frame.
Select X to return to the Unit Association frame.
2057 – Ask for Bin or Location when Disassociating Components? (1,2,3) – Setting this flag to the default value of "0" will not require entry. Setting the flag to "1" will require the location to be specified. Setting the flag to "2" will require both the location and bin to be specified. The bin used will come from the same bins defined for parts.
ASSOC TO NEW LOC – The user must have this privilege in order to change the location of a component in the frame, Location Component Association.
CHG ASSOC STATUS – This privilege allows a user to manually reset the component status on Component Main.
IMMEDIATE REASSIGN – User must have this privilege to reassign a component to a unit when it is already associated with a location.
