More on System/Assembly/Parts and ATA Cross Reference.....

The ATA job 01-13-001 translates into the follow:

Work Accomplished Code (WAC) 01 = Repair

System Code 13 = Brake System

Assembly Code 001 = Front Disc Brakes

The job calls for the front disc brakes to be repaired.  Specific parts can be cross-referenced to this job by placing this full code, 01-13-001, on the Part Number records in the Part Main Catalog. Here it serves as a cross reference number and can appear as a pop-up when a part is being charged to the job on a work order. This cross reference is valuable to users who track inventory based on the jobs performed.

In the M5 system, the Part Main Catalog is often referred to as the Master Part Catalog. It contains the master records for each part.

To create the association between System/Assembly/Part code with a part master, go to the Part Main Catalog screen and enter the System/Assembly /Part code on the Part Master record.
