Variance Reason

The Variance Reason frame allows you to create and maintain a list of codes to be used in the Component Rebuild Process.

The variance reason code is required when the quantity of fabricated parts being received into inventory is not equal to the quantity of fabricated parts being requested at the time of the work order completion process when the Job Reason code is marked with a Component Rebuild designation.

Create

To create a new Variance Reason, click in the blank Code field and type in a new code. This field has a limit of three characters. Type in a description for the Variance Reason.

Once the entry is complete, click the Save button at the top of the frame. The new Variance Reason will now be available for use.

Modify

You can modify the descriptions of existing codes. Once a code has been saved you cannot modify the Code the field. The Variance Reason will be read-only.

To modify a description, click in the Description field and type the new description over the existing description and click the Save button to update the record.

Disable

To disable a code, check the Disabled box in the row of the Variance Reason you want to disable. Click the Save button to disabled the code.

Delete

You can delete a Variance Reason provided it is not in use by any other tables in the system. If the code is in use, you will not be able to delete the Variance Reason from the list.

To delete a code that is not in use, click in the row of the code you want to delete to make it active. Click the Delete button (Red X). The selected row will turn red. Click the Save button to delete the Variance Reason from the system.
