The Part Bar Codes frame allows you to print bar code labels specifically for parts. To print bar codes for other items, see the Bar Code Writer frame. To print part bar codes you must have a bar code printer installed and available on your PC. You will also need the proper labels loaded in the printer you are using.
In the Selections Options section, you can set the Max Bar Codes value. It is recommended to print the codes in smaller batches in case the labels get jammed in the printer or if you encounter another printer error. Smaller print jobs are easier to deal with and re-run should you encounter problems.
Next, select what the bar codes are for:
Specific Part - You have the option of entering a specific location and you are required to enter in a Part Number or double click to select one from the
list of values (LOV).
Location - Select Stock, Non-stock, or Either from the Part Stockness drop down. Enter a valid Location or double click in the field to select one from the LOV.
Bin - Enter a location, the default is your current log in location. Next enter the Bin number.
Part Xref - Enter or select the master part number in the Part Number field and then select the Xref you want to print a label for from the Xref drop down.
Any selections made from the Selections Options section will automatically populate in the Ready for Printing section i-frame. You can edit the number of copies by changing the number in the Copies field.
When you are finished making your selections, select the bar code label size from the 'Form' drop down menu. Then select a valid bar code printer from the 'Printer' drop down. See the Printer Definition and Printer Assignment frames for more information. Click 'Print' to print your labels.
