Part Kits

The Part Kits frame allows you to create a set of parts from existing stock parts that are commonly used together for a job. This Part Kit can simplify the inventory management steps involved and ensure that you consistently have the same parts available for the recurring jobs.

Part Kits do not allow for serial or lotted numbers and the code must be a unique identification code and cannot be a part number already in use in your Part Main Catalog.

Create

To create a new kit, enter a new code in the Kit Code field; this field has a limit of 16 characters. After you enter the new code and press tab or enter, you will receive a prompt asking if you are sure you want to create the new kit. Click 'Create' to confirm the action.

Next, enter a description for the part; this field has a limit of 20 characters. Press tab or enter to move to the i-frame below to add parts to the kit.

To add a part, enter the part number in the Part Number field or double click in the field to select a part from the list of values (LOV).
Note: Parts must be stock parts if you want to add them to the kit.

The Part Description and Manufacturer will populate automatically. Enter the part quantity in the Quantity field. Once you have entered all part numbers for the kit, click the 'Save' button at the top of the frame to save the kit. The new kit will no be available for use.

Note: You must add parts to the kit in order to save the record.

Modify

To modify an existing kit, enter the Kit Code or double click in the field to select one from the list of values (LOV).

You can add and remove parts as necessary and adjust the quantities. After you are finished, click the 'Save' button to update the record.

Delete

You can delete a part kit provided it is not in use on any other tables in the system. To delete a part kit, you must first remove all parts from the kit by clicking in the row and deleting the parts individually. After deleting the last part from the kit, M5 will then remove the kit from the system.
