The Part Number Change frame allows you to take an existing master part number in the Part Main Catalog and change it to a new part number while keeping the historical data and cross references for the part.
Changing a Part Number
To change an existing master part number to a new number, enter the existing part number in the Number field in the Part Identification section. The Description field and the Manufacturer fields will automatically populate.
In the New Part Number Section, type in the new part number. This field has a limit of 25 characters. Enter the manufacturer for the new part, this must be a valid manufacturer from the Part Manufacturer frame. Once you have entered the new number, click the Save button at the top of the frame.
Upon saving, you will be redirected to the Part Main Catalog frame. You can make any necessary edits to the new part number here. Note: The old part number will become an Alias Xref for the new number.
