Vehicle Safety Query

This frame provides the ability to designate a vehicle is safe to drive when a defect is found on a DVIR. It serves as a test suite history query frame of sorts that is similar in functionality to the Purchasing Requisition Approval frame.

You can search by location, unit number, test suite name or label, date range, and failed entries. At a minimum, a selection of unit or location and a date range is required to run the query. System Flag 5507 provides the ability to also search by Using Department and Description. If this flag is set to 'Y', those options will display.

Entries that match your selection criteria will display on the Completed Tests i-frame below. If System Flag 5508 is set to 'Y', additional driver information will display (Driver Number, Name, and Signature values). The values that display correspond to the user who completed the test suite through the SmartApps Inspections App.

To view test results for a completed test, click in the row of the test you want to view. The details will display on the Test Result Details for Test Suite i-frame below.

In the Completed Test Suites section, each row contains a 'Safe to Drive' check box.

Processing rules for the 'Safe to Drive' check box:

  1. If one or more items failed, the box will default to being unchecked.
  2. If that box is checked and saved, the corresponding test suite result record will update to 'Y'.
  3. The check box can only be selected if all defect jobs are in a status that allows the work order to be completed or the defect job is a work request.
  4. When the box is checked, you will receive a popup to enter a note. A minimum of five characters must be entered in this field.
  5. Clicking cancel will cancel the action. Clicking OK will accept the notes as entered and generate another popup where a signature can be entered. The system captures the date and time of the signature entry as well (for display on the DVIR CL report).
  6. You have the option to cancel the signature entry, clear and re-enter it, or accept it.
  7. If there are open work requests you will receive a warning message asking if it is OK to proceed with the save. Selecting 'Yes' will save the record.
  8. Once the Safe to Drive box has been checked and saved successfully, it cannot be unchecked.

*If the user has the VEH SAFE TO DRIVE privilege, the 'Safe to Drive' check box can be selected for any failed test suite regardless of the status of the defect jobs. This privilege effectively bypasses all processing rules for failed test suites. You cannot uncheck the box once it has been updated and successfully saved.

Cannot Be Driven check box - user will need the UPD SAFETY DATA privilege to update.

Delete Work Request - checking this box will delete the work request. You will not be able to check this box if:
